Brian here and Happy Friday!
Today I’ve got 3 simple reminders, 3 simple ways to keep from getting bogged down and stuck in a rut with your trading.
It can be easy on any given day or in any given moment for something to happen that seems to take the wind out of your sails and is really discouraging.
When that happens, remind yourself of WHY you’re trading, your bigger reason, the one that is for others.
If you only look at the situation or how you’re feeling, it can be easy to want to give up, at least for now.
Also, it’s good to keep things in perspective, and remember that whatever just happened is only situational and occupies a small moment in the grand scheme of things.
During times of stress, whether it’s trading, work, relationships, no matter the cause of the stress, it’s extremely important for you to stay healthy.
Eat well. Get plenty of rest. Drink enough water.
Take a 10-20 minute walk. Get outside.
Work in a little healthy fun, both physically and mentally if you can. For me, it’s volleyball.
Probably most important: Avoid the things you know are bad for you.
In stressful times, you really must bring your best, and that starts with you as a person.
It’s really easy to let your mind and attention to get occupied by the effects, the results, the “what happened”
That’s when it is crucial to consciously get your focus back on the process, long term
At the same time, you must detach from the outcomes
Focus on the process, knowing that this is what produces the results, and if you take care of this, you’re taking care of them.
Now speaking of process, remember that you’re part of this process of building your trading operation.
When things aren’t going well, it can be really easy to withdraw and further isolate yourself.
Even though it might be a little uncomfortable and NOT your first inclination, often this is the perfect time to reach out for help and assistance.
Remember, you’re not alone.
Don’t be too proud to get the help you need so you can attend to the cause of your daily and ultimate success.
This means the daily process and the bigger process of your trading business.
In Quality Assurance, that is how we give customers, Management and the owners of the business peace of mind: process control so we know the outcomes.
Have a great weekend!
Cheers
Brian
