Why Did You Do It?

whySometimes, especially when it’s getting tough to keep your chin up and to keep plodding forward, it’s worthwhile to reflect on your big-picture reasons for why you’re trading.

I know that there were several times when I’d gotten my teeth kicked in by the markets things looked and felt pretty bleak.

Doubt and despair can be formidable foes.

There were times when I questioned whether I should stay with this course or consider going and doing something else.

But I always knew, deep down, that trading is where I wanted to be.

When it’s going well and I’m trading like I should, it really is a great occupation.

And the possibilities for what it can provide, especially the financial rewards and the time freedom…

Nothing beats the that feeling of freedom, especially when it comes to family and being available to be part of the memories as they come about.

For me, that was a big why.

I wanted to make sure that I could be involved in my kids’ lives.

And that meant getting free of the corporate job where my plans for evenings or weekends could be superseded at any given time.

So what is your why?

Why did YOU choose to become a trader?

Remembering your why might help you through some of the tough times, as it has for me.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Brian

P.S.  I’ve got a project coming up soon that should be pretty cool.  Keep your eye on your inbox, as I’m looking for a select group of my readers to be involved.
